Trying out the ATN Aries Night Vision Scope

Looking to experiment with a new Night Vision Riflescope? Then your best bet is the ATN Aries MK390. This ATN rifle scope is perfect for people new to night vision technology. I had a chance to play around with this recently and was very pleased with the performance. It's very easy to use, the battery lasts a good long time and I had no problems seeing what I was targeting.

This ATN Scope is an Aries MK390 Paladin Generation 1 Night Vision Riflescope and it's capable of shooting 100+ yards on medium sized game in complete darkness. Perfect for the hunter who is on a budget that doesn't want to spend thousands on a simple night vision device. It's at a price point that ensures the best quality in night vision optics.

It has the most powerful IR system on the market for a 1st generation night vision scope, so your target will be bright and crisp enough for you to see clearly in the dark . I had no problems mounting it to my weapon (good height for an AR-15) and was simple to learn how to operate.

This particular ATN Aries Scope has more applications than just hunting. It's perfectly suited for law enforcement and military uses. High quality ATN construction ensures that it's built to last, even after heavy use in the field.

I've had a lot of experience with ATN Night Vision products and they've never let me down yet. The quality of workmanship is unparalleled compared to other consumer grade night vision devices. ATN Optics are simply the best on the market. I've never had any problems with ATN rifle scopes and I look forward to playing around with what they have coming out next.

AccuScope Takes the Guesswork Out of Sighting Your Scope

"AccuScope is 'MOA made simple'--
the only thing you need to know
is your scope's MOA number."
Every shooter has been there: adjusting his rifle scope a quarter of an inch this way, another eighth of an inch that, essentially using guesswork trying to get the shot lined up just right. It's a frustrating and time-consuming dance.
Imagine a tool that could save you gobs of wasted time, ammunition, and needless confusion... Well fortunately you don't have to imagine any longer-- AccuScope has now made those fancies a reality! By developing a system based on often complicated MOA mathematical concepts and taking the work out of sighting, the AccuScope slide chart greatly simplifies the process of accurately sighting your scope, dramatically reducing time and eliminating unnecessary expense. Simply put, the AccuScope sighting slide chart is "MOA made simple"-- the only thing you have to know is your riflescope's MOA number.
Two versions of the AccuScope sighting chart are available: the 1/4 and 1/2 MOA chart for the most common scopes, and an 1/8 MOA chart for precision riflescopes that are increasing in popularity. Using your scope's MOA, shooting distance in yards, pre-gathered elevation and windage off-center distances, AccuScope automatically determines the number of elevation and windage adjustment dial clicks needed to accurately sight your scope for a dead-on shot.
With both its outer-jacket and sliding insert card constructed of heavy-duty, riveted card-stock and laminated weather-resistant plastic film, AccuScope is built for years of dependable use in the field or on the range. AccuScope can be used with muzzleloaders, shotguns, pistols, or rifles, and with a price that could barely pay for lunch, never has such a minor investment provided such long-lasting, cost and time-saving benefits.

By Land or Sea: Omega Aquatics Amphibian Fins are a Diver's Dream

It's one of those things that makes you wonder, "Wow, why didn't someone think of this sooner?" I'm talking about Omega Aquatics revolutionary-- and yet revolutionarily common-sense-- new Amphibian dynamic diving fins. The Amphibian "flip fins" are designed to be put on before entering the water, and make walking and climbing boat ladders as easy as doing it finless! It's all about the Aqua-Hinge mechanism: heavy duty springs push the soft blade webbing up to ride gently against the shin while strutting mammalian style, then once in the water the Amphibian diving fins kick in, literally: naturally kicking feet in the water pushes the fin down and locks it into swimming position. Pushing on the release lever upon exiting the water flips the fins back up.
.
Don't mistake Amphibian scuba fins for being just another clever creation-- these flippers are much more. The Amphibian is a high-performance scuba fin that combines power and safety that no other fin can match. Featuring a central web configuration, Amphibian Dynamic Scuba Fins increase propulsion and reduce load required for sustained kicking. Slippery rocks are no match for the Amphibian; the strong rubber grippers on the soles of these versatile fins ensure your stability. Trainers' jobs become infinitely easier, and rescue and military operations are made immeasurably safer and more efficient, making these flippers the favorite of pros and recreational divers alike.
.
If you enjoy looking like a big doofus as you trek across the beach in bungling 4-foot strides, sending sand flying everywhere and entertaining the youngsters, then by all means, you should pass on these Dynamic Scuba Fins and stick with your good old fashioned duck fins. If, on the other hand, you're tired of tripping over your flippers and clumsily struggling to get in and out of the water, then swim on over to OpticsPlanet and check out Amphibian flippers and all the other great offerings from Omega Aquatics!
.
Be stylin' in your wetsuit!
Amphibian Dynamic Scuba Fins are available in blue, black, yellow, and orange for color-coordinated flipper fashion!
Fin sizes are large and X-large; medium-sized inserts are available for large fins.

It's amazing how helpful a good flashlight can be. Get Funky with your Photos

Every once in awhile I stumble across something here at OpticsPlanet that I inexplicably missed before and realize just how cool it is. Lomography cameras are one of those things. With all this high-tech, digital sophistication buzzing around our heads all the time, it's easy to forget what photography looked like before the digital era. Some photographs looked pretty miserable, true; but others looked pretty darn amazing because film cameras imparted spontaneity into our pictures, unplanned and uncontrolled happenings that often resulted in pictures with more personality, and of course there was no option to just delete delete delete all photos that didn't turn out.
I could easily spend a few hours browsing through the galleries at the Lomography website. Lomography offers quirky, affordable, retro film cameras with a lot of character that produce fantastic photos that no digital camera can touch. OpticsPlanet offers several of the funkiest of the bunch at very nice prices so a photographer has plenty of money left over for film. I'm surely way behind the trend that all the cool kids have known about for ages (these cameras are very popular with the free-spirited, non-conformist, world-traveling types), so you'll have to excuse my being a Johnny-come-lately. I confess the Lomography Color Flash Holga Camera Starter Kit for 120 medium format film has been calling my name since I discovered her a couple weeks ago. With a plastic 60/8 optical lense, the Holga produces photos in which colors radiate, total image sharpness is happily MIA, and dreamy vignetting is common, especially on sunny days. Created by Kodak in 1898, the 120 medium-format film that the Lomography Holga calls for has been used by professional photographers for decades, and at four times the size of 35mm film, it results in exceptionally deep and rich colors. With colored filters and an uncoupled advance and shutter, the Lomo Holga is user-friendly and easily manipulated, so you can spend hours expirimenting with different quirks and tricks and yield consistently surprising, unique, funky and beautiful photos.
